American Corners

AC Belgrade-Photo by Vladan Jeremic

American Corner was open in Belgrade on May 16, 2003.
AC provides access to current and reliable information about the U.S. via book collections, the Internet, and through local programming to the general public. Sponsored jointly by a U.S. embassy, Belgrade City Library and Youth Cultural Center, the American Corner serves as an information outpost similar to a public library reference service. The multi-media, book and periodical collections are open and accessible. Associated reading or meeting rooms are made available to host program events and activities (i.e. author readings, speaker programs, workshops, films, meetings, and exhibits).

American Corner consists of a collection of books in English about the U.S. The book collection includes reference titles, works of fiction, business and government publications. American Corner also provides access to U.S. information through Internet access, audio and video products, and CD-ROMs. Host institution personnel staff the Corner.
Access to American Corner collection is free and open to all interested citizens.
